Blessed Are Those Who Mourn

Message
Dayo Adeyefa
Feb 8th, 2026

In this message, Pastor Dayo talks about the second Beatitude from Matthew 5:4: "Blessed are those who mourn." He explains how kingdom people don't hide their pain or sin, but bring it honestly before God to find healing and comfort. Using the Apollo 13 crisis as an illustration, Pastor Dayo shows that just like the astronauts had to admit "we've had a problem" to receive help, we must confess what's broken in our lives to experience God's comfort. He addresses the dangerous theology of toxic positivity and explains that faith isn't denying reality, it's trusting God while telling the truth about our pain. Discover how mourning over personal sin, the brokenness of our world, and others' suffering leads us to the comfort only Jesus can provide.
